JASON SOMMER, GOALKEEPER DIRECTOR

Jason Sommer started his career as a goal keeper 11 years ago. Originally from Townsend, DE he played for Appoquinimink High School. While at Appoquinimink High he was a two-time state finalist. During high school he had the opportunity to play in the National League, which is right under the Development Academy, for 4 years. Jason decided to continue his soccer career at Wesley College in Dover, DE and was a starter for the NCAA Division 3 program. In Jason’s Freshman Year with Wesley, the team went 16-5-1 making the Wolverines men's team the most improved team in NCAA Division III men's soccer in 2018. Wesley recorded an 11.5-game turnaround from the 2017 season to the 2018 season, which tied the 1999 University of Puget Sound Loggers for the largest single-season improvement in NCAA Division III history. That year he appeared in eight games making six starts in net for the Wolverines - earned four wins and two losses - made 27 saves for a save percentage of .711 in just a little over 600 minutes of play. In his sophomore year he appeared in 19 games making 18 starts - 47 saves in the net with five wins, eight losses and one tie. Jason joins ALBION SC Delaware as the Goalkeeper Director and will bring his experience to developing players on and off the field.
